We all want to be healthy and happy.
When I first learned about Ketogenic Diet (AKA Keto), my initial reaction was scepticism. Like many, I assumed it would turn out to be some variation on ‘detoxing’ or other largely discredited views about how the body works. I thought ‘eat fat to lose weight’ was an outrageous, almost unbelievable claim.
Nonetheless, I decided to find out more.
General interest in the Keto is simply exploding! (Check out the Google search trend below.)
If you persist, there are a wealth of new studies providing mounting evidence of how many benefits of the diet. When I learned the facts, I changed my mind.
If you want to get healthy and lose weight, then reading this is surely the first step on your weight loss journey. The exciting news is that as you will learn, a Keto diet really works and there are countless people who have achieved their goals with this approach.
So be ready to be amazed.
But weight loss is only the beginning.
You will soon discover, as I did, that the other health benefits are as powerful and in fact more so. In addition to weight loss, you will reduce your risk of heart disease, diabetes, many forms of cancer, and probably even Alzheimer’s disease.
In the meantime, being a Keto convert, you will be so much sharper, both physically and mentally. You will experience increased focus, better mood, deeper sleep, better digestion, clear skin.
You will be lean and strong.
You will start to feel like a superhuman!
But Keto is no magic. YOUR BODY IS.
Keto is a mere tool that can help you optimise your potential for better health, fitness and wellness.
Don’t just take my words for it. Let’s start by learning.
Knowledge is POWER.
Along with this journey, you will need to challenge everything you think you know about nutrition. To achieve the benefits, you’ll need to put aside every preconceived notion of what is “good for you” and what is “bad for you.”
I want you to be as sceptical about my conclusions as I have been about others. I shall include as many credible references to the scientific literature that I have drawn on so that you can make your own judgements.
So let’s learn together.
Low carb is not a “fad” diet and Keto is not a myth. This is about changing the way your look at food altogether, to know what’s on your plate and how your body interacts with your food.
Focus on the health benefits and the long-term health changes that come with eating a low carb diet. Knowing that you are greatly improving your health is a powerful reason to stay with a ketogenic diet plan, even if you don’t lose any weight immediately.
Consider getting a health check-up and a blood panel test done just before starting the diet so that you can track the effect of the change in your eating habits on your cholesterol, blood pressure, and other health markers. Four to eight weeks later, you can get another blood test done and see if there are improvements. You will be amazed.
There is no such one size fits all when it comes to diet. As you discover Keto, you will also discover how to match specific dietary input and exercise strategies that target specific health outcomes for YOU! We are all different and there is a great deal of variability in how we respond to what’s on our plates.
